Back in 2016, 53.3% of the voters of Winthrop, MA went to the polls during the general election and cast a vote in favor of the Massachusetts Marijuana Legalization Initiative. In the four years since, there’s been a lot of confusion and very little action toward the opening of a recreational marijuana shop in Winthrop. Despite the will of the people in the general election, the town officials extended a moratorium on recreational marijuana shops until a separate town vote could be conducted. That vote has yet to happen so the moratorium is still in effect.

The convenience of recreational marijuana comes at a much higher cost due to increased taxes and fewer options to name just a few reasons why a Massachusetts MMJ card is still a good thing to have.
